Enter url to the top level site
The first time the web part is configured, this will default to the url of the
current top-level site collection. You may wish to use the web
part to display documents from document libraries on different sites, in
which case you need to enter the full url to that site.
When the text box loses focus, a check will be done to ensure that
the url is valid. The site must be a site which is hosted within the same
server or server farm as the current site.
Checks are also done to ensure that the current user has at least reader
permissions on the entered site (the root web).
Changing this value will also cause the area/site/subsite dropdown list to
re-populate itself.
Select the area/site/subsite
Depending on whether the current top-level site collection is a WSS site or a
SharePoint Portal site, this drop down list displays a list of all subsites and
portal areas to which the currently logged on user has access. The user must
have at least read permissions on the subsite or area for it to be visible in
this drop down.
The default value for this list is the current area or subsite.
Changing this setting will cause the document library drop down to re-populate
itself.
Select the document library
This drop down list displays all the document libraries that the current user
has access to. The user must have at least read permissions on the document
library for it to be visible in this list.
Currently only standard document libraries are shown; there is no support for
image libraries in this version.
Select the view
The file viewer pane will display different combinations of fields depending on
the view selected from this drop down.
The file viewer will honor any filtering, sorting and paging options set in
the view. However, grouping and totals/aggregations are not currently
supported.
The list will only show public html views; ie personal views, and grid, calendar
and explorer views are not currently supported.
Default Folder
Allows a specific folder to be selected as the folder to view when the user
enters the site.
Display toolbar
Checking this checkbox will cause the toolbar to be visible to users at the top
of the web part
Display bread crumb
Checking this checkbox will cause the web part to display a folder 'bread
crumb' above the file viewer
Display treeview
Checking this checkbox will cause the folder tree view to be displayed to the
left of the file viewer pane
Treeview width
Microsft Internet Explorer 5.5+ users have the ability to dynamically resize the
treeview as required by dragging the right-hand border of the tree control. The
value in this text box determines the initial width of the treeview when the
user first visits the page.
If this value is set to -1 the treeview will resize automatically
to display the contents of the treeview.
This setting will have no effect on non-Microsoft browsers
Allow drag & drop
Checking this checkbox will enable users with the required permissions to use
drag and drop operations on files and folders within the document library
Drag and drop requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
Confirm copy/move operations
When this option is selected, whenever a user attempts to copy or move a file,
they will be prompted to confirm the action with a dialog. They will also
be shown a confirmation message in the info pane once the action is completed.
Turn off these messages by unchecking this box.
This option is available only when Allow drag & drop is selected
Force meta data update
When a user moves a file between document libraries, they will be
taken to the edit form so that they can update the meta data for the document
in the new library.
If this checkbox is unchecked, the user may bypass the updating of the meta data
by holding down the shift key while dropping the file in the destination.
This option is available only when Allow drag & drop is selected
Alert errors
If this checkbox is checked, the user will be shown a javascript alert message
whenever an error occurs. When unchecked, error messages will be shown in the
infopane only
Open files in new window.
When checked, clicking the link to a file will open that file in a new window.
Allow Autoscroll
When this option is checked, and when the page is refreshed, scrolls the page
back to its previous position before the refresh.
Cache timeout
The Document Library Explorer web part uses caching to ensure the webpart can
maintain its state across different page visits. For example, when uploading a
new document, you will be taken to the document upload page. When the document
has been uploaded, and you return to the web part page, caching ensures that
the selected folder and paging information for the web part is maintained.
This text box sets the value in minutes for which the cache will hold onto the
data for the web part.
Turn off caching by setting this value to 0.
Template Library
These three fields can be used to configure Document Library Explorer to
use an additional Document Library as a library for templates. Selecting "New
document" from the toolbar will display a menu with all the documents to choose
from.
Extension Assembly Name
Allows an assembly which modifies the toolbar at runtime to be specified.
Extension Type Name
Allows a fully qualified typename to be specified for modifiying the toolbar at
runtime.
